A2K configured for your data types and to your specifications
Most organizations have already invested in the data models, ontologies, and standards they want their data to follow. The harder part is applying them the same way to every new source, whether that work runs through ETL pipelines or falls to the analysts who use the data.
A2K turns the standards you already have into a working harmonization capability, without your teams building or maintaining an AI pipeline. It works in three steps:
- A2K translates your data model, ontology, or standard into an AI-optimized schema and set of specifications.
- It uses those specifications to map and harmonize every file, variable, and value across your data sources.
- It returns harmonized, analysis-ready data, applied the same way across every source, with a full audit and provenance trail.
Enterprise overview
Data types
A2K works with any life sciences data type that has a specification pack. Examples include:
- Clinical trial data: data collected in interventional trials.
- Observational studies: cohort, registry, and other non-interventional study data.
- Real-world data (RWD): electronic health records, claims, and other routinely collected data.
- Product labeling: structured and unstructured label content.
New data types are added as new specification packs, and the platform itself stays unchanged.
Specifications
At the core of A2K is a model-optimized schema and SpecGen, A2K's process for translating a data model, ontology, or standard into that schema. SpecGen converts your data models, controlled terminologies, and conventions into a specification pack that the platform can apply consistently, since it informs both the rules and the AI model.
Your team reviews and adjusts the specifications, and each version the platform runs is recorded with every decision it produced.
Your standard, ontology, or data model, and the source systems in scope.
Structured specifications at the system, domain, and variable levels.
Your sample data is profiled against the specifications; coverage and gaps are surfaced.
A versioned specification pack that the platform runs, with a record of every decision.
Environment
Enterprise is offered in three deployment profiles. They differ in where A2K runs and where its AI model calls run, which determines what data, if any, leaves your environment. In every profile, A2K retains no data between runs and never trains on your data.
Hosted by A2K
- Leaves your environment
- The dataset, anonymized where it concerns individuals
- Security
- A2K manages the full environment
In your environment
- Leaves your environment
- Model calls only: one distinct value at a time, never rows or the dataset
- Security
- You run the environment; A2K signs and ships the container
Fully in your environment
- Leaves your environment
- Nothing, including model traffic
- Security
- You run the environment and the model service; A2K signs and ships the container
In P3, the connection to a model service in your own cloud account is set up as part of your deployment. In P2 and P3, your organization can also choose its AI model provider.
Customers
- Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies: harmonize datasets from many sources to your own standards, so your teams can pool them and turn them into evidence.
- Platform and OEM partners: license the harmonization runtime, the specification-engineering toolchain, and the evaluation harness, and offer A2K inside your own product, under your brand, using P2 or P3.
- Consortia, nonprofit, and academic institutions: use A2K with your own community standards or in your own environment, for your own work or for the members and institutions you serve. The standard and the relationship with your community remain yours.
Working together
We start with a demonstration on synthetic data, then scope the data models and data types you need and plan the deployment.
- A2K's toolchain builds specifications from your data model and sample data; your team reviews and adjusts them.
- Specifications are versioned, with a record of every decision.
- Your data, data model, and specifications stay yours and are never pooled across clients or partners.
- Commercial terms are defined together.
